The Architectural Partners Sketch and Fleece Ltd, drew up initial plans, artist's impression and computer-generated visual display solution for a major warehousing and distribution facility for the sale of Catholic books within the curtilage of the parish of Our Lady of the Rosary, Blackfen. The innovative Structural Surveying practice Glance-Guess advised us on the feasibility of building such a facility on what is basically not far off marshland (hence the name "Blackfen").
I am most grateful to them for their expertise in reluctantly, but responsibly, coming to the conclusion that in the highly unlikely event of catching the Bexley Council Planning Committee taking a nap, the proposed building would not only sink into the swamp but would probably take most of the surrounding houses with it.
Therefore I consider the professional fees of £275,000 (plus VAT) money well spent in protecting us from such a disastrous error of judgement. I am currently consulting the above firms vis-a-vis the outside-the-box concept of a visual, revenue stream indicator in the shape of a large thermometer concealing a mobile telecommunications base station.
