Legal Stuff

You may use these files for pastoral materials to be given away free of charge. You may not use these files for any commercial purpose. I offer no warranty for the use of these files on your computer. While I can see no harm that they could do, you use them at your own risk and I do not accept any liability for any loss or damage howsoever caused.

These resources have all been used in my own parish. I hope they are of help to other parish priests and catechists. I will try to add other files that I have found helpful in my own ministry.

Most of these are .pdf files. Your browser will probably open them automatically. If it doesn't, you need to get Adobe Acrobat Reader

Confirmation Worksheets

We use these worksheets in Blackfen for preparing young people in Year 8 (12-13 years of age). They will probably also be useful to those who are older. If you're a priest or catechist trying to prepare young people for Confirmation, I hope they are of help to you. You may also find the Saints page helpful.

Worksheet 1 "What is Confirmation"
Worksheet 2 "The Sacrament of Penance"
Worksheet 3 "The Holy Eucharist"
Worksheet 4 "Baptised into the Church"
Worksheet 5 "The Holy Spirit"
Worksheet 6 "The Mass of Confirmation"

All six worksheets in a compressed folder (.zip file 628Kb)

Confession Leaflets

I put a supply of these leaflets outside the confessional so that people can use them and take them home with them. I usually print them on coloured pre-printed leaflet blanks. I use the children's leaflet for confessions in the Junior School and for children making their first confession. I use the "teenagers" leaflet for my Faith Youth Group and for the Confirmation Class.

Confession leaflet for children - A5 leaflet suitable for children aged 7-10.
Confession leaflet for teenagers - A4 tri-fold leaflet suitable for young people 11-16.
Confession leaflet for adults - A4 tri-fold leaflet for adults.

School Mass Leaflets

Often, teachers are short of time when preparing for school Masses. These leaflets are all suitable for children and the "themes" are designed to bring our Catholic faith alive for children. The scripture texts have been simplified for children by referring directly to the original texts, not by simplifying an existing English translation.

I hope that these will be of use to teachers and school chaplains. They have all been used in my junior school and I will post more as they are produced.

All of these leaflets are pdf files and will print out an A5 leaflet that can be copied for the class.

Various other leaflets

A selection of other leaflets that I use in my parish.

Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction
Service of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction with some popular prayers. A5 leaflet.

Prayer for engaged couples
A4 sheet with 4 copies of a prayer for engaged couples.

Service at a Crematorium
A5 leaflet. Suitable for priests or deacons conducting a Liturgy of the Word at the Crematorium. Uses texts from the Order of Christian Funerals and traditional sources. For private use only.

The Angelus
A4 sheet with the Angelus arranged so that it can be cut into 4 A6 copies to give out.

Miraculous Medal Novena
Novena in honour of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. Arranged on A4 so that each sheet can be cut to give two small leaflets.

Catholic Prayers

Catholic Prayers
You often need the texts of various prayers when doing up leaflets and handouts. Here is a Rich Text Format file with the texts of many basic Catholic prayers so you can cut and paste them. ("rtf" files open in most Word Processors, including all versions of MS Word, WordPerfect etc.)

Altar cards

Altar Cards
A set of Altar Cards for the Classical Roman Rite of Mass. The pdf will print out on two sides of A4 paper. The second should be guillotined in half and then the three cards can be laminated. This may be useful for priests who are travelling and wish to pack some altar cards with them.

Traditional Latin Mass - notes for lay people

Traditional Latin Mass - notes for lay people
Every Saturday at 10.30am and occasionally at other times, we have Mass in the parish in the extraordinary form of the Roman Rite, the older use, often known simply as the Traditional Latin Mass. These are some brief notes to help lay people who are unfamiliar with this form of the Mass.
