Opus Dei

Opus Dei is not a sinster, mysterious organisation. In fact, you can find out about them on the Opus Dei web site which has the non-mysterious URL www.opusdei.org

There is also a special web site for St Josemaria Escriva.

The "Da Vinci Code" is a fictional book which is supposedly based on various "facts" about Jesus Christ, Mary Magdalen, Opus Dei, and the Catholic Church.

The author shows little knowledge of the areas he purports to be informed about. The materials linked on this page will help you to understand the facts and to see how prejudiced and uninformed this best-selling book is.

Talk on the Da Vinci Code

Provided here, for the convenience of those who came to one of my recent lectures, is the text of the notes that I have used.

Please do read some of these articles before telling anyone else to read the "Da Vinci Code" or telling them that "it is very interesting".

Should you read the book? No. Much better to read Carl Olsen's "Da Vinci Hoax" and learn some Church history into the bargain!

Should you go and see the film? Is it good to see a porn film just to know what it is about? Of course not. Is it good to see an anti-Catholic film just to etc... No, I don't think so, either.
